It’s been a weirdly balmy couple of weeks. But now it seems the UK could (finally!) be getting cold again. According to forecasters, snow could even fall in areas around northern England and Scotland as early as next week.
The Met Office said that temperatures will drop after a further week of milder weather. The more unsettled conditions could bring snow, strong winds and rain, a spokesperson said.
Met Office meteorologist Annie Shuttleworth said the current forecast is for temperatures to drop below 10C in northern parts of the UK today. Areas including Manchester and Northern Ireland will be around 7C by Tuesday.
In London and the south-east, however, we can expect day-time highs of 14C after an unseasonably warm October. ‘The end of November, it generally looks like we’ll see high pressure and lots of dry and settled weather,’ she added.
‘That could bring some colder nights. There are no major signals for snow but we can see frost and fog becoming a little more likely into the back end of November.’
