As everyone knows, Boba Fett is the coolest character in the Star Wars universe – at least, until he took his helmet off in The Book of Boba Fett – and it turns out the man who played him in the original trilogy was well aware of the fact.
The face of that actor, Jeremy Bulloch, won’t be familiar for obvious reasons, but the Brit played the bounty hunter in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
Bulloch died in 2020, leaving behind a massive trove of Boba memorabilia. As The Guardian reports, it’s all about to go under the hammer in an online auction. And for a good cause, too – all proceeds are going to Parkinson’s UK.
The auctioneer, UK auction house East Bristol Auctions, is launching the sale on May 4 (of course) and has 400 lots up for grabs.
‘Jeremy didn’t just star in the franchise; he was a massive fan himself,’ says auctioneer Andrew Stowe. ‘His love for the movies and the fans took him all over the world and wherever he’d go he would purchase or be given Boba Fett memorabilia. His home museum contained everything from Boba Fett tea towels to rare action figures.’
Also among the items up for grabs are lightsabers, vintage action figures, signed photos, blasters and even a fan-made Boba Fett helmet. Bulloch made a cameo appearance in Revenge of the Sith and his script from the film is expected to fetch £1200 at the auction.
The auction is the second sale of Bulloch’s Star Wars collection. Part one raised £155,000 in 2022.
It all starts online at 12pm BST on May 4. Head to the East Bristol Auctions website to pre-register and join the bidding.
