Good news, waterpark lovers: one of the UK’s most beloved aquatic centres is soon to reopen after years of closure. Splash World in Southport, one of north-west England’s most treasured family-friendly destinations, is set to reopen tomorrow (May 27). Yes, tomorrow!

Splash World initially closed back in 2019, with the council saying they planned to refurbish the site and reopen it by the end of summer 2020. That reopening was delayed by the pandemic, when Splash World was instead used as a Covid-19 testing centre.

After years of delays, Splash World is finally opening its doors (and wetting its slides) once more. Expect soothing river currents and exhilarating rides in equal measure, all in the same iconic coastal location as before. Adult tickets are £15, while kids’ tickets start from £10.50.

Fancy a visit? You can find out more about opening times and facilities on the official Splash World website here.

Did you see that an epic new £10.5 million lido is opening in this underrated English city?

Plus: Cambridge Uni now has its own huge wildflower meadow.
