Holidays are great, but they’re expensive. Too expensive for a lot of us. Things add up pretty quickly, but there’s ways to keep costs down.

If you’re planning a low-cost staycation this summer, we’ve got good news for you. Megabus has just launched a brand-new bus route from London to Plymouth, Devon, and it costs less than a tenner (£9.99) each way.

Yep, that’s right: Megabus will get you and your friends to southwest England for less than £20 return. It will also go via Bristol, Exeter and Taunton on the way, so you’ve got plenty of options for your trip without leaving UK soil.

A spokesperson for Megabus said that the company is ‘so pleased to be adding this route’, and that ’it’s great timing as we’re into summer and this is another fantastic chance for customers to use our great value services to enjoy the many lovely towns and cities around the country’.

The service will depart Plymouth at 7am and arrive in London at 1pm, while the return leg will depart London at 3.30pm and arrive back in Plymouth at 9.30pm. It runs Thursday to Monday, and the route launched on June 27.

You can book your extremely cheap seats on the Megabus website here. The further in advance you book, the better your chances of getting the super duper cheap ones, so try to plan ahead. You know what they say, the early bird catches the affordable girls/lads trip to the Devonian coast.
