There’s a lot of comfort in a well-established restaurant chain. From Pizza Express to Nando’s, you know exactly what you’re going to get: dependably tasty and (usually) affordable nosh.
The UK is littered with restaurant chains – and that’s particularly the case with pizzerias. But did you know that several pizza restaurant chains in Britain are officially among the best on the entire planet?
At the 2024 edition of the 50 Top World Artisan Pizza Chains, nearly a dozen pizza chains with outposts in the UK were crowned the finest in the world. A total of 11 pizza restaurants – some of which are solely based in the UK, some of which are global but have restaurants here – featured in the top 50.
Chief among those was Da Michele, which came in second place and has UK restaurants in London and Manchester – as well as Tokyo, Los Angeles, New York, Madrid and, obvs, all over Italy.
In third place was Big Mamma Group, which boasts London and Birmingham restaurants as well as sites in France, Germany and Spain. Pizza Pilgrims, Rudy’s and Zia Lucia, which are solely UK-based, came 7th, 27th and 33rd, respectively.
Here are all the UK chains in this year’s 50 Top World Artisan Pizza Chains ranking.
