Genesis

In its seventh edition, 212 Photography Istanbul welcomes one of the most important photographers and activists of our time, Sebastião Salgado, with the 'Genesis' exhibition. Running until the end of December, this exhibition is also the festival's first to last for three months. Salgado, a Brazilian photographer and photojournalist, is globally recognized and respected as a documentary photographer. His black-and-white photographs, known for their powerful and striking narratives, often address themes like poverty, migration, war, and the environment. As one of the most influential names in contemporary photography, Salgado's 'Genesis' exhibition at 212 Photography Istanbul is not to be missed.

Exhibition dates: September 28 - December 31 at MSGSÜ Tophane-i Amire Culture and Art Center.

In & Out of Fashion

Dutch photographer and artist Viviane Sassen is a respected figure in both fashion photography and the contemporary art world. Sassen, who spent part of her childhood in Africa, reflects her experiences in her work. She often plays with color, light, shadow, and body forms to create surreal and abstract compositions. Throughout her fashion photography career, she has collaborated with brands like Acne Studios, Miu Miu, and Stella McCartney. Sassen's work explores the human body and identity themes, challenging traditional beauty standards, and her works have been exhibited in prestigious galleries and museums.

Exhibition dates: September 28 - October 28 at Galata Greek School.
