Dig Shibuya
Shibuya’s reputation as a pop culture hub is long established, and this ever-vibrant Tokyo district is also fast becoming a focal point for the tech sphere: witness Google’s towering Japan HQ, surrounded by some of the city’s most futuristic architecture. Dig Shibuya 2025 is back for the second time this February, held over four days across key Shibuya venues and public spaces. The event promises a unique cultural experience that fuses the area’s artistic and hi-tech creative energy.
Locations include music venue Spotify O-East, the Shibuya Koen-dori area and various gallery spaces, which become a dynamic stage for performances, interactive installations and other activities hosted by creators, including Dig Shibuya headliner Ryuichi Ohira. This Chiba-based Japanese sculptor and contemporary artist is known for creating colourful wooden sculptures with fruit motifs such as pineapples and cherries.
The festival will kick off on February 7 with an exciting 'spatial VJ' live experience using Apple Vision Pro headsets at Shibuya Parco's rooftop Commune. Don't miss the immersive digital creations and music by leading extended reality artists Akihiko Taniguchi, Jackson Kaki & Osamu Sato duo, or the collaborative work by Saigo no Shudan & Luna Woelle.
