There are 16 giant fruits, including melon, strawberry and mikan, along the National Route 207 highway in Konagai, Nagasaki prefecture
Nagasaki is undoubtedly worth a visit for its beautiful temples, museums and natural wonders. Spending a night inside a Japanese castle and transporting yourself to Amsterdam at Huis Ten Bosch for a day are high on the must-do list, but Nagasaki also has lower profile, but no less charming, spots to see. For example, these highly instagrammable fruit shaped bus stops.
These adorable bus stops were set up after the Nagasaki Travel Expo in 1990, hoping to create a welcoming environment for visitors, and the design was inspired by the pumpkin carriage from Cinderella. You’ll find 16 stops along National Route 207 between Konagai and Isahaya city centre, each of which is shaped like one of five giant fruits, including a tomato – yes, the city decided to play on a technicality.
Here are the five different fruit bus stops in Nagasaki.
