Treat yourself to a ‘gourmet tour’ of Hokkaido without getting on a plane. All you need to do it visit Ueno’s Matsuzakaya to enjoy Sapporo’s famed kaisendon topped with copious amounts of sashimi and salmon roe, gyutoro (raw beef) mazesoba laden with truffle and lobster, and rich Hokkaido milk gelato. There are plenty of bento boxes for takeaway too, filled with the region’s signature seafood and beef – just make sure to come early as there are a limited number of servings for each dish.
