Time Out says

Widely regarded as one of the world’s most beautiful ships, Italy’s Amerigo Vespucci is a historical sailing and training vessel of the Italian Navy, which now serves as a promoter of Italian culture as it travels across the globe. This grand sea-faring beauty is docking at Tokyo International Cruise Terminal near Odaiba from August 25 to August 30.

For its first-ever port of call in Tokyo, the 93-year-old ship will be open to the public (reservations required) for five days in conjunction with Villaggio Italia, an Italian cultural exposition.

This event, whose name means ‘Italian Village’ in English, offers a vibrant introduction to Italian culture and way of life. Live music by bands and opera singers, film screenings curated by the Venice International Film Festival and seminars on prominent Italian artists and talents are just a few of the experiences offered.

While the festival is free, you’ll need to reserve a spot for each event via the festival website.
