Harajuku’s Cat Street is getting a glow-up with its inaugural red carpet event on Sunday November 19. The event is split into two parts, starting with an opening ceremony by Tour d’Elegance Japan at 9am, where you’ll see vintage and classic cars from the ’30s to the ’80s.
The main fashion show starts at noon, featuring models from Loveteen, a group of Gen-Z models from teenage fashion magazine Popteen. The models from fashion magazine Buzlea, founded by fashion retailer Shein and fashion school Blair School Group, are also working in collaboration for the first time this year.
The runway will feature a variety of fashion trends popular among Gen-Z, outfits made from upcycled products, and school uniforms. You’ll also discover new and innovative styles of kimono by brands like Ascention Dress and Kimono By Nadeshiko.
Don’t miss the flea market and pop-up shops along Cat Street street. They open at 11am.
