Sengen Shrine Potted Plant Festival

An annual celebration at Asakusa's distinctly unspectacular Sengen Shrine, this festival offers exactly what it says on the tin: potted plants in all shapes, sizes and colours, exhibited and sold by home gardening enthusiasts who join hands to set up around 60 stalls on and around the shrine grounds. The Potted Plant Festival takes place on the last weekends of May and June and always attracts a healthy crowd of both locals and visitors.
