This long-established, fully automated baseball batting practice facility is a Kabukicho landmark, occupying a sizeable chunk of land, and standing out all the more for its location in an area of Shinjuku better known for more, shall we say, adult-oriented pursuits. Just like its neighbours though, Oslo Batting Centre stays open past midnight to offer a means of shaking off the stress of city living. A floodlit hive of activity every evening (you can hear the ceaseless smack of bats on balls from afar), here ¥1,000 gets you a session comprising between one and three games (dependent upon the pitching speed you select).
