Time Out says

Commemorating 100 years since its establishment, the city of Kawasaki is hosting an outdoor music and food fest on Saturday June 29 by the banks of the Tama River. Featuring popular J-pop bands such as Shishamo and Sumika, the festival has invited artists with roots in Kawasaki for this special occasion. While admission to the festival is free – where you can enjoy street food, pro-wrestling showcase and more – the music segment at Todoroki baseball field is ticketed (and has sold out).

The main draw of the festival, however, will be a spectacular display of aerobatics by the Japan Self-Defense Force’s Blue Impulse team, which will be viewable from roughly 2pm above Kawasaki, Setagaya and Shibuya. Catch the sight of soaring jets flying by in precise and synchronous formation, a true demonstration of the pilots’ flying prowess.

While the jets will fly briefly above central Tokyo, we recommend viewing the performance from the banks of the Tama River near Futako-Tamagawa to avoid crowds.
