Every year, Kamogawa Seaworld in Chiba admits small groups of visitors for an exclusive tour of the aquarium after dark. This year, the evening tour will be held during Golden Week and subsequent Saturdays from May 7 to June 25, allowing a total of 90 people per day to enjoy the facility across three entry slots at 8pm, 8.10pm and 8.30pm.
You’ll have a rare chance to observe coral fish change their colours and patterns after hours and learn how sea creatures like dolphins, orcas and penguins sleep (some float on water, others standing). Spaces arelimited, so reservations must be made in advance via phone (04 7093 4803).
Entry fee is cheaper than a daytime ticket; it’s now ¥1,500 (middle school and primary school students ¥900, younger children ¥400, free for three years old and under) instead of ¥3,000.
