Stave off the already sweltering spring heat with a refreshing cup of shaved ice this Golden Week at the Kakigori Festival, held outside Odaiba’s DiverCity Tokyo Plaza from April 26 to May 6.
The quintessential summer dessert, made with fluffy ice shavings and topped with colourful and sweet fruit syrup, will be sold by multiple food truck vendors at the Festival Square next to the shopping complex. Grab a bite of some (slightly) premium kakigori made with natural mineral water from Mt Fuji, or feast your eyes on the photogenic rainbow-coloured varieties.
