Get acquainted with the Japanese music scene over the weekend at Inspire Tokyo, a three-day cultural fiesta by local radio station J-Wave. The main programme of the festival this year is the ticketed concert at Yoyogi National Stadium, featuring top names including Hinatazaka 46, BoyNextDoor and Nulbarich. One-day tickets are now on sale, starting from ¥12,000 (¥70,000 for lounge seats).
However, the festival also hosts free music shows at Yoyogi Park, featuring up-and-coming artists such as 18 year-old singer Rejay, indie group xiexie and more, curated by J-Wave’s radio hosts.
Also at Yoyogi park is a free-to-enter market brimming with food trucks and stalls selling a wide variety of fashion goods, crafts and sundries. The bazaar this year is expanded to include a new international gourmet zone and a curry area celebrating Tokyo’s best curries.
Come evening, don’t miss the Niagara Bon Odori dance taking place every day from 6pm to 8pm. Everyone is welcome to join in.
