Set foot inside the Itabashi Botanical Garden to transport yourself into the tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia. The first floor is separated into different areas including the Intertidal Vegetation Zone where 700 kinds of plants live, the Tropical Lowlands Zone featuring a gigantic sea fig, and the Village Landscape Zone surrounded by tropical fruit and towering palm trees.
The Cloud Forest Zone on the second floor houses plants like rhododendron, orchids and nepenthes, which need cooler temperatures to thrive. If you head down to the basement, you’ll find a mini aquarium with around 150 species of fish that are native to Southeast Asia.
