There’s not much better than a hot bowl of soup on a cold February day, which makes the timing of this festival perfect. Now into its fifth edition, the Hot Soup Festival takes place at Koenji Station’s north exit plaza with food stalls from 13 local restaurants.
You can try soup from Japan and all over the world. Expect the likes of Iranian vegetable and bean soup from Asagaya restaurant JameJam, porcini and bacon potage from Drammatico in Ogikubo, and ramen from Jagura Koenji. The festival starts at 11.30am on both days and a ¥700 ticket from the reception stand gets you two bowls of soup.
