The annual Mid-Autumn Kangensai Festival at Hie Shrine is held on September 29 this year and it features a host of Japanese performing arts.
You’ll get to enjoy Gagaku, a Japanese Imperial Court music and dance performance that has been around for over 1,000 years. There’s also Miko (shrine maiden) dances and Bugaku (Japanese classical dance) performed to traditional Japanese harps and flutes. This event is a perfect opportunity to experience Japan’s ancient culture through the arts.
