Better known as a florist, Hibiya Kadan is opening its first glamping accommodation in Fujino, Sagamihara city, Kanagawa prefecture. This slice of nature is located on the fringes of the Greater Tokyo region: from Shinjuku, it's about 90 minutes by car or two and half hours via public transport.
There are only two luxurious dome-shaped tents available, each occupying its own spacious terrace overlooking a lush mountain range. The Japanese-style tent Ruri comes with traditional tatami mat flooring while Ecru offers a more modern Western design. Each tent is the same size and can accommodate up to four happy campers.
The terrace is equipped with an outdoor wooden dining table made at a local factory in Fujino, and the entire space is decked out with Hibiya Kadan's gorgeous flower arrangements. Both tents even have their own barbecue space (optional, additional fee applies). However, toilet and shower facilities are shared, but you can always go for a therapeutic dip at a nearby hot spring.
The room rate includes breakfast and dinner, serving up seasonal dishes made from organic local vegetables and seafood. Should you decide to occupy your time with some activities, there's yoga, coffee bean roasting, flower arranging and blueberry picking.
