Hachioji Summer Market

If the good weather and summer vibes have put you in the mood for shopping, don a yukata (or summer kimono; it’s optional but many locals will be) and head to the Hatchoji Summer Market. Located along the Nishi Hoshasen U-Road from Hachioji Station’s north exit, the market abounds with local handicrafts like furin (traditional wind chimes), street food, plus locally grown morning glory flowers. The market coincides with the popular Tanabata Matsuri, so the atmosphere is both traditional and jovial.
