Marking 30 years since the opening of Yebisu Garden Place, this annual outdoor cinema returns this summer with more things to do than ever before. Held on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at Yebisu Garden Place until July 15, Foodies’ Picnic combines film, food and fitness into one ultimate urban picnic experience.
Open-air mobile theatre company Kino Iglu is organising the event’s outdoor ‘picnic cinema’, which is screening 19 films, all of which features some connection to food. While shows start at 7.30pm, it’s recommended that you arrive early to secure a good spot to lay down your mat.
Popular restaurants from the Yebisu Garden Place shopping complex, including The Kintan Steak, will be setting up stalls at Clock Square. So sit back and relax while enjoying some good food and drinks on the spacious artificial grass lawn at the central plaza.
For fitness-minded folk, free yoga sessions are also held on the aforementioned lawn. Spaces are limited, on a first come, first served basis. Check the event website for details.
