Said to have been founded in 853, this quiet temple deep in the suburbs of Meguro is worth a visit despite the location. Its main hall is the oldest wooden structure within Tokyo's 23 wards, said to have been built in the Muromachi era and designated an Important Cultural Property of Japan.
