Commune will be closing permanently on August 31 2021
Run by the team behind the hip Farmers Market at UNU, Commune is a casual, colourful, leafy enclave of food trucks and open-air seating just off the ritzy Aoyama-dori. Over the years, Commune has had several makeovers and this incarnation is somewhere to hang out – and even work – during the day.
There are about a dozen food and drink vendors that change regularly, free wifi, and the area is now smoke- and booze-free (although there is a ‘bar’ selling non-alcoholic beer, wine and mocktails). Commune hosts events and festivals throughout the year, like the monthly Raw Tokyo market, with vintage clothes, jewellery and other knick-knacks.
If you’re in Shibuya, check out Commune’s swanky new sister venue on the rooftop of Shibuya Parco.
