Get your yukata ready, as the massive La Cittadella entertainment complex is hosting an outdoor night market inspired by traditional Japanese festivals. There will be plenty of yatai (outdoor food stalls) serving local street food as well as food trucks offering international cuisines such as Mexican tacos, Hawaiian garlic shrimp and Taiwanese roast beef skewers.
On the entertainment front, you can expect an eclectic mix of performances including taiko drumming and shishimai lion dance. Additionally, you can partake in shateki shooting games and arcade crane games. This interesting mix of modern and traditional Japanese elements makes for a vibrant festival atmosphere.
If you’re looking to get dolled up for the event, yukata rental is available from ¥4,400. Or you could purchase a brand new set of yukata and obi for ¥16,500 (¥13,200 for the first three customers each day) – it even comes with a yukata dressing service and two photoshoots. Reservations can be made online.
