As one of five long-standing flower festivals in Bunkyo ward, the cherry blossoms along Harimazaka road have been celebrated by locals with this festival annually since 1971. A total of 120 somei yoshino trees line the road. You’ll also find a few rare varieties of sakura here, too. While you're there, pay a visit to the nearby Koishikawa Botanical Gardens, our top pick for the best places to see sakura in Tokyo.
The cherry blossoms are lit up from 6pm to 8pm daily until March 30 (lanterns lit until April 6).
