If Tokyo's Oktoberfest onslaught doesn't take your fancy, head to Yokohama's Yamashita Park for a taste of Belgian beery goodness instead. Take your pick of 115 (!) different varieties, running from the workaday (Stella Artois) to the downright exotic (Zinnebier's Christmas Special and Malheur Dark Brut). There'll also be live music courtesy of Belgian singer-songwriter Marka, as well as ample food offerings in the form of frites, waffles and the like. No admission fee is required, but food and drinks are bought with tickets that must be purchased in bulk; the ¥3,100 'starter set' gets you a glass and eleven tickets. Buying your starter set in advance is highly recommended, as the ticket queues on the day can be unbearable.
