Get ready to turn the energy up a few notches at this weekend-long celebration of African-American-Caribbean culture. Dance to the beat of African drumming or sway to some reggae, be awed by samba dancers and capoeira demonstrations, get a hair weave, and browse market stalls of clothing and handicrafts. There will also be a vibrant selection of traditional food on offer, such as curries, beans and stews as well as grilled meat and seafood. We’d go for the jerk chicken – spiced, smokey and succulent.
