Yokohama Kyogendo

Noh and Kyogen are traditional Japanese stage performances that regale stories of historical importance. As modern forms of entertainment become more common, these classical arts are gradually being marginalised and ignored by the younger generation. To renew the public’s interest in Kyogen, the Yokohama Noh Theatre is staging a monthly performance of two Kyogen stories at only ¥2,000. With timeless stories that touch upon themes relevant to everyday life in the present, this Kyogen production will resonate not only with long-time fans but also many first-time viewers.
