Enjoy lively traditional performances at this year’s Daidengaku festival that gives the ancient art of dengaku a modern twist with bright costumes, festive music and dances. Performances are based around the traditional music of the Heian to Muromachi eras, and kyogen master Manzo Nomura will be performing ‘Odakura’ with a group of his students as well as other dancers and musicians. Under the direction of Manzo Nomura , these works will be presented in collaboration with creative production company NAKED. Over 100 dancers sporting bright hanagasa (flower straw hats) and five-coloured costumes will be featured.
Note: Admission is free but tickets are required for entry. The advance tickets have all been redeemed – however, you can still get tickets on the day at the lounge on the 2nd floor of the venue starting from 4pm (while stocks last).
