Akishima may not be the most happening of places, but at least the western suburb has this new sports facility with a climbing wall, yoga studio and organic-friendly café. There are also gyms on both floors, plus a rope-climbing wall that's 16.5m high and 11 to 15m wide – qualifying it for international competitions. The bouldering wall here is also among the largest in Tokyo, and can hold about 20 people at a time. Check the official website for event info.
