Add a little bean paste to your life at Shinjuku's Newoman, where wagashi veterans Toraya have this fancy little café in the second-floor Ekisoto area. Anko paste sold by the jar is obviously the main attraction, but we're also eager to try the éclair-like Ankoppe pastries, filled with ample quantities of cream cheese and the aforementioned paste. These goodies are available for takeout but are probably best enjoyed on site, in the spacious glass-and-steel café.
