Run by the Terrada warehouse company – which actually does far more than just stock Tokyoites' leftover belongings – this new art supplies 'laboratory' was designed by internationally renowned architect Kengo Kuma and inspired by the look and feel of bamboo. It stocks more than 4,200 colour pigments, as well as a number of top-quality traditional East Asian tools; the over 200 ink sticks are true rarities, very hard to come by these days. The staff are all well versed in the intricacies of the products, and are happy to show you how to use them.
