This avenue of stalls and tiny shops leading up to the entrance to Senso-ji in Asakusa is the oldest shopping arcade in Tokyo and sells all sorts of Japanese souvenirs, some dating back to the Edo era. It also sells the kind of food that is associated with festivals, and traditional snacks such as kaminari-okoshi (toasted rice crackers) and ningyoyaki (red bean-filled buns moulded into humorous shapes).
