After raising money from a crowdfunding campaign, Kapok Knot has opened its first showroom on the second floor of Grownd Nihonbashi. You’ll find racks of jackets and coats all made from fibers from kapok nuts, which are widely cultivated in Indonesia. The material is great during the spring and autumn for its lightweight qualities, and in colder months, it keeps you well insulated.
For instance, the down jackets here are only 5mm thick, unlike the bulkier ones at most clothing stores.
Everything here is made entirely from plants, so if you’re looking for organic, eco-friendly or vegan clothing, this is the place to go. Remember to shoot the shop a direct message via the official Instagram before you visit, as the store is only open on a prearranged booking basis.
