This organisation was founded with the aim of promoting awareness of Japan’s traditional crafts. Learn about, then shop for, a broad cross-section of crafts (lacquer, ceramics, paper, kimonos, knives, textiles, stonework, household Buddhist altars and so on) at this showroom-cum-museum. There are permanent and temporary exhibitions, a reference library and even classes. The gift shop sells the work of craftspeople (who sometimes give demonstrations) from across the country.
