Could this be Tokyo's first otaku nail salon? You may have heard of Itasha, the customised, anime-festooned vehicles (literally 'pain mobiles' in English) beloved of certain members of the Japanese geek fraternity. Well, if you head to Ita Color’s Yellow – on the ground floor of Don Qujiote in Akihabara – you can do something similar to your nails. The salon's resident artists will happily adorn your nails with an anime character or design of your choosing, at a rate of ¥1,000 per 10 minutes, though you can also choose from a range of otaku-appropriate removable nail tips if you're in a hurry.
