This fruit parlour in Ebisu is supplied by Shimada Seika, a fruit wholesaler that’s been distributing fresh produce in Tokyo for over 90 years. Everyone comes for the dorayaki (from ¥518), a Japanese pancake sandwich that’s usually filled with red bean paste. However, the ones here are filled with premium fruit, red bean paste and whipped cream. The shop also offers a special dorayaki made with glutinous rice flour, giving the pancake an extra chewy texture. Both versions come in four flavours – strawberry, muscat, mango and melon, but keep an eye out for seasonal versions like fig, persimmon and Asian pear in autumn.
You’ll also find a refreshing fruit jelly dessert (from ¥518), which comes in those same four flavours, plus rich strawberry, peach and muscat milkshakes (¥734) and a cold hojicha fruit tea (¥594) mixed with fruit like melon, peach, mango and strawberry.
Plus, there are some seasonal items like kakigori shaved ice (from ¥972) topped with generous amounts of fruit and syrup during the summer, a Japanese-style fruit panna cotta (from ¥626) during the winter, Japanese-style tiramisu (from ¥918) and a mont blanc tart (from ¥810).
