With its thin layers of puff pastry, mille-feuille can be messy to eat. However, Butter Holic has found a way to make this popular dessert easy to enjoy on the go.
Pastry chef Daisuke Iwai offers his signature mille-feuille in a long, rectangular shape and served on a cardboard tray that helps eliminate crumbs falling on your clothes. More importantly, the mille-feuille is stellar, as he uses double the amount of butter for the pastry and vanilla bean custard for the filling.
Butter Holic’s mille-feuille comes in six regular flavours including the crowd-pleasing strawberry napoleon (¥880) which has three whole strawberries stacked on top. There’s also the strawberry custard (¥680) with strawberry slices, chocolate banana (¥580), tiramisu (¥630), brulee and walnuts (¥580), and a simple butter custard (¥530), plus a seasonal mille-feuille that changes regularly. You can also get hot or iced black tea, fruit tea and latte at Butter Holic.
