Barware speciality store Bar Times has announced it will be closing its Ginza boutique for good on February 28. Since it first opened in Iidabashi about ten years ago, the shop has been catering to the city’s most respected bars and bartenders, as well as home mixology enthusiasts. Now, however, the brand is moving to sell its goods solely through its online shop.
The upside to this is that with only a few days to clear out merchandise and retail displays, Bar Times has decided to hold a garage sale at the Ginza outlet, where some products have a 40-to-90-percent discount. If you were waiting for an opportunity to justify buying a pink gold cocktail shaker for your home bar setup, this is it.
Up for grabs are practical accessories like stainless steel measuring jiggers and an eye-popping range of cocktail glasses, as well as stuff you wouldn’t normally find in your standard homeware store – left-handed bar spoons designed by world famous bartender Erik Lorincz, or hinoki cocktail bitters for instance.
A few items will have a substantial discount if they’ve got small abrasions from sitting on the display shelves, so this is also a rare chance to get otherwise-perfect goods like handmade Edo kiriko mixing glasses (which normally cost upwards of ¥9,000) at a knocked down price.
Bar Times Ginza will be open from 12pm to 6pm every day until its last day on February 28. The sale may end early if the store sells out, so don't delay.
Can’t make it to the shop? You can still buy goods on the Bar Times online store (without the discount) and even get them shipped internationally.
