This incredibly wallet-friendly Nihonbashi soba shop not only serves the ubiquitous hot and cold versions of the popular noodles with all the fixings, but also dishes out some unique variations with an ‘international’ twist. For die-hard soba fans who have been there and done that, take a small world tour without leaving your seat: ‘internationally’ themed items include garnishes from cheese (France) to fish and chips (England) and tomatoes (Italy). If going a bit more middle-of-the-road is your style, then try their eponymous ramen-like Yomoda Soba (which comes topped with a fried pork cutlet), or the more health-conscious field herb-topped soba. Udon lovers need only ask at the counter to make the switch. Breakfast, rice bowls and other set menus are also served, including soba and curry sets that make the crossover into morning fare. Sake and shochu are available on weekday evenings from 5pm.
