Head on over to Yakitori Shinchan for high-quality skewers at fairly reasonable prices. You can order sticks starting at just ¥180 for mainstays like chicken and scallion, breast meat and tsukune meatballs. After you order, watch owner Shinchan prepare each of the skewers to order while devouring small plates of leek salad seasoned with vinegar and miso (¥380) or chicken tenderloin topped with ume plum (¥480). It's best to make your way over around 5pm since the place can get pretty crowded as the evening goes on.
