Time Out says

It's been there for more than 40 years, and this antiquated café on Asakusa's Rokku-dori shows absolutely so signs of wanting to catch up with the times. Its around 30 seats are practically always filled on the weekends, thanks to the horse racing fans that hover around the Wins Asakusa off-track betting spot nearby and stop at Wakao for one of the eatery's unique curry toasts. These thick slices of bread are painted with butter and covered with a hashed beef curry that packs quite a punch but still goes down without too much effort. If your timing is good, you might be able to fit in some chilling with Mai-chan, the resident cat.
