Found deep in Ota-ku between Omori and Kamata, this smallish unagi restaurant probably wouldn't be worth the trip if it wasn't for the hamidashi unadon (pictured), their speciality lunch dish that consists of a bowl of rice topped with a massive slab of thick, carefully steamed eel. Seasoned with a slightly sweet, thick sauce, this one makes an impact with its mere appearance and serves as the perfect stamina boost for big eaters. Reasonably priced at ¥2,700, the dish sells out practically every day, so it's best to head over early just to make sure.
