Yakitori is a popular street food in Japan, but Toriyo gives these casual grilled chicken skewers a gourmet upgrade. The yakitori here is made with premium-grade chicken sourced from Miyazaki and Hyogo prefectures, and served omakase style. Meals start at ¥4,800, which includes seven kinds of yakitori and a few egg-based dishes.
If that sounds a little light to you, don't worry. The chef will continue to serve you additional skewers until you let them know you've had enough, so you’re guaranteed to leave the restaurant with a full stomach. Make sure to browse through the list of drinks – the selection of wine and sake is designed to pair well with the yakitori skewers.
Don't get too focused on the food, though. The chic eighth-floor restaurant has a direct view of Tokyo Tower and the Roppongi skyline. The low lights create an intimate setting and make it easier to enjoy the view at night.
