The flagship restaurant at the Andaz Tokyo hotel in Toranomon is dressed to impress, featuring tinkling live piano music, aerial views of Tokyo, and an international menu of luxury ingredients with prices to match. Yet it’s far more than just another expense account restaurant. On our two visits – breakfast and dinner – we were impressed by the number of families dining together, and the friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
The restaurant has recently renewed its concept and menu since the introduction of their new executive chef, Shaun Keenan who took over the kitchen in December 2017. Even though the restaurant is still coined under the theme of 'international grill', the restaurant now focuses on a range of domestic meat as well as local ingredients to give you the best quality, local food experience. The new range of dishes will amuse customers' palattes, and chef Keenan's beautiful presentation will exceed your expectations. A must-order item off the menu is their very tender 'snow aged' beef, matured for 25 days in a natural 'Yukimuro' refrigerator. You'll also want to sample the restaurant's new signature Bloody Mary cocktail, concocted from Japanese ingredents including the vodka, yuzu tabasco and tomato juice.
The Tavern - Grill & Lounge is located adjacent to the Andaz hotel’s entrance on the 51st floor of Toranomon Hills.
