Tucked away in a residential area behind the Nezu Museum in Minami-Aoyama, Tahichi offers Asian cuisine with a focus on Thai – and not, as the name may suggest to katakana readers, Tahitian. To find it, rather than looking for a signboard displayed outside (there isn’t one), keep an eye out for a building with white wooden panelling. The chef here originally studied French cuisine, but later became interested in southeast Asian cooking – more specifically, formal Thai cuisine. As it turns out, French-style sauces go very nicely with authentic Thai flavours.
