Time Out says

Tokyo is a great city for solo diners, as many restaurants are happy to cater to parties of one. However, if you’re looking for a casual place to relax without having a full meal, this Shinjuku café takes the solo experience to the next level.

As its name suggests, Solo Yama only accepts solo customers. This laidback café offers all-inclusive snacks, drinks and wifi for a set price of ¥1,650 for the first hour between 11am and 3.59pm. If you wish to extend beyond your first hour, it costs ¥550 for every additional 15 minutes. From 4pm to 10pm, the hourly rate is increased to ¥2,750.

Included in the price are free-flowing coffee as well as canned and alcoholic drinks such as wine and beer. If you're feeling peckish, the café also serves complimentary soup and snacks. Looking for a meal instead? For ¥550, you can order main dishes like keema curry rice.

But the thing that makes this café a good choice for some peaceful me-time or remote work are the great seating options. Take your pick from comfy booths and sofas to tables at the outdoor terrace filled with plants. It's especially beautiful at night when the surrounding buildings are all lit up.
