Higashiyama is one of Kyoto’s best-preserved historic districts, with a high concentration of must-see tourist sites. These include Hokan-ji and Kiyomizu-dera temples, the Ninen-zaka and Nene-no-michi lanes, and Kodai-ji temple, within the precincts of which you'll find this coffeeshop. In addition to quality joe roasted and brewed in-house, the menu includes both healthy and voluminous meals and sweet treats: think fragrant panini and curry rice plates loaded with Kyoto vegetables, plus decadent desserts like cakes and parfaits. Slow Jet also has a spacious terrace that faces the Yasaka Pagoda, one of the ancient capital's most famous landmarks.
